Apple will release iOS software update in China next week to comply with Qualcomm ruling
Apple is currently appealing against the ruling in China in favor of Qualcomm that says Apple’s iPhones infringes on its patents.
It has now been confirmed that Apple will be releasing a software update for iOS in China next week which, should allow Apple to comply with the ruling.
“Based on the iPhone models we offer today in China, we believe we are in compliance,” Apple said. “Early next week we will deliver a software update for iPhone users in China addressing the minor functionality of the two patents at issue in the case.”
Apple has confirmed this to Reuters and the update will probably be released whilst Apple is appealing the ruling.
We heard earlier today that Apple has said that this new ruling could force it to sign a deal with Qualcomm.
